We took Quinn off to Daniel and Ashley's wedding in Virginia.  The wedding was the high point; the traveling and logistics were an, um, adventure.

For pics, see the Photo Album.

Quinn got to visit Cathy, Danielle and Tom.  Cathy used to babysit Quinn, and agreed to keep him while we went to the rehearsal dinner.  Quinn had a blast.  Pam left and lost the power booster for the brakes.  This meant that when she stepped on the brake, nothing happened.  About a half-second later, the car began to think about braking, but took its time.  Pam made it to the rehearsal dinner, where she and Pete decided to have the car towed.  After that, Pam (who has no tolerance anymore) became quite tipsy on what seemed to be one glass of wine.  Blasted waiters...

This complicated wedding transportation logistics on Sunday.  We won't even go there.

Pam is never bringing a two-year-old to a wedding when Pete is in the wedding party again.

Quinn didn't care for the ceremony, but he loved the reception.  As far as he was concerned, the entire point of the affair was the music and dancing.  He danced to the recorded music played before the arrival of the bridal party.  When the bride's brother (also the minister) ordered the music stopped so he could make announcements, Quinn marched up, demanded the microphone, and said "It's broken!"  When this didn't get the music turned on, he sought out the DJ and insisted "it's broken!"

Quinn didn't pay much attention to the chicken fingers and french fries provided for the kids, although he liked the fruit plate.  He fed all the blackberries to Mommy (he didn't care for them, and had noticed that she did) and gave her every other blueberry.  He really liked the Thai noodles with the peanut sauce, and didn't feel they were too spicy.  Surprising, when he believes grapefruit juice is too spicy...

Finally, the music started up again, and Quinn returned to the dance floor.  He stayed there for the rest of the night.  Attempts to get him to sleep in his stroller at ten or eleven were met with impassioned please of "Dance!  Dance!"  Unfortunately, he was beginning to have trouble keeping his eyes open and standing up.  Finally, he accepted dancing with Mommy, eyes opening and closing while he rested his head on her shoulder.

Monday morning at 6:30AM Pam called Auto Experts in Vienna.  By the way, there isn't a better place to take your car - Roy has taken care of Pam's cars for the last ten years.  Anyway, the booster was replaced with a rebuilt one.  Late Monday night, about an hour and a half from home, it failed.  After learning something about the weaknesses of the NJ Turnpike Authority, Pam just drove home - there was almost no traffic, after all.  Pete, Pam and Quinn arrived home at about 2:30AM.

Work on Tuesday wasn't much fun.
