Home Up

9-month well baby exam; 3/14/2001 Quinn was all into the nurse's stethoscope
from her. He crossed the line when he decided that he had to find out what
ear wax tastes like, though. Once again, the nurses drew straws, and the
loser had to give Quinn his last Prevnar shot. (Prevnar is a new vaccine meant
to protect against pneuomococcal something-or-other). Quinn weighed in at
22 pounds, 4 ounces,
and was 28.5 inches long. That puts him in the 30th percentile for height
and the 90th percentile for weight;
Developmentally he is doing all the things he should be. These days he
does any of the following:
- "Cruises" on furniture
-
Babbles--but this time, with FEELING!
-
Smiles, laughs, squeals, makes raspberries & blows bubbles--still thinks
this is a blast
-
Grasps and lets go--dropping things for mommy and daddy to get is lots of fun
-
Plays for a long time by himself--but is now really into playing with others
-
Eating EVERYTHING (except no-no's like honey and citrus) happily
-
Has 8 teeth, probably more coming (4 on top, 4 on bottom)
-
Sits up without help
-
Crawls fast--in his walker, he's even faster
-
Climbs up stairs. Climbing down...not so much.
-
Starting to wave hello and bye-bye
-
Loves things that make tonal noises
-
Loves things that make percussive noises
-
Loves to pull hair--especially for the noises
-
More and more every day--it's getting hard to keep up
