Pete and Pam's Handfasting Page
It's finally here: since we put it up so late, we'll try to keep it updated with useful information.
First, some brief background, since many have been asking.
Handfasting is a Pagan tradition which symbolically binds the couple for a year and a day. For basic information on Paganism, check out Church of All Worlds, which has a good set of FAQs.
We've also had some inquiries about the Unitarian Universalist Church in Reston (UUCR), and Unitarian Universalism in general. Pete has been a UU since 1993, and Pam and Pete joined together as members of UUCR in 1996. UUCR doesn't yet have a web-page, but you can direct inquiries to our minister, The Rev. Dr. Gretchen Woods.
About our reception: I (Pam) believe that half the beauty and enjoyment of art is lost when we only observe. Every individual has unique talents, and to share those talents before a winter fire with good food and drink is just as wonderful as hearing or seeing the most famed artist of current time - personally, I think, even better. So don't be shy! We certainly won't.

We have reserved a block of rooms at Holiday Inn. More information about Holiday Inn Tysons Corner is available here. If you have any problems with the online reservation system, call the reservationist at the number indicated and tell them you are with the Ochs/Thomas wedding block--this will guarantee that you get our locked in rate as long as rooms are still available. We highly reccomend anyone making last minute reservations call the reservations desk and ask for the wedding block rate of $79--the rate quoted online is over $160 right now!
