Yesterday (Wednesday, May 19) Con had a vet visit.  It was my first vet visit as a horse owner (last time I just missed him).  Con needed his sheath cleaned, and wasn't thrilled about the idea.  Given his tremendous range of motion with the hind legs, he got a little tranquilizer.  He still managed to kick three or four times with impressive accuracy and reach; fortunately, the vet has long arms!  He was perfectly good about everything else; you can stick that horse with as many needles as you want, but don't touch him anywhere personal!

Here's a picture of him after he woke up mostly, for contrast with last year; notice how dark his coat is now that he isn't sunburned.  I'll get better pics sometime on a weekend with nice light.  He is still a little ribby; the vet said his condition was fine although he could put on a few more pounds.  He is sloooowly gaining weight, and he eats more than any other horse in the barn.
